Traffic. Shopping. High prices. Long lines. Kids crying. Has this been the description of your holiday season year after year?
Forget the holiday "hustle-and-bustle" and escape to "An Old-Fashioned Christmas" at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park.
Cypress Gardens soars into the holiday season on Friday, November 16th. Join us for a weekend of fun, then come back on Friday, November 23rd as we officially kick things off with our annual tree lighting ceremony in front of Magnolia Mansion at 6:30 pm.
The lighting of the 80 foot Christmas tree marks the kick-off of "An Old-Fashioned Christmas," the park's holiday celebration. Beckoning guests to hearken back to the days of simpler Christmas joys, the park offers a variety of lights and displays, shows, activities, food and shopping for the season.
Millions of twinkling lights and many of the park's original Christmas displays provide a brilliant backdrop for the event. One can see them throughout the park, starting at the front entrance all the way back through Adventure Grove. The shops of Jubilee Junction have donned the mantle of the season, decked out for the holiday with plenty of decorations and unique shopping.
Throughout the years, this holiday season has been widely celebrated through music. Cypress Gardens brings much music to "An Old-Fashioned Christmas," with strolling carolers and musicians, as well as seasonal shows. Dance along to the merry melodies during "Jingle Fest," a nightly celebration full of characters, singing, caroling, dancing, and food. Remember the true meaning of the season with "The Living Nativity," the park's living nativity performance, featuring a musical accounting of the marvelous events of that history-changing night more than two thousand years ago. Discover a heart-warming story of war-time romance in "A Holiday Homecoming." This simple story of young love separated by uncontrollable circumstances will leave you longing to hug someone you love.
The ice returns to life with "An Old-Fashioned Christmas On Ice," a skating spectacular. The 25 minute-production promises to be a delightful display of power and grace, full of leaps and spins, set to a traditional holiday soundtrack.
The gazebo inside Jubilee Junction will be the home of numerous holiday acts. Kids young and old can't miss Dr. Christmas. He will bring some of your favorite Christmas tales to life during "Tales from the North Pole." The "Holiday Brass," a holiday brass quartet, will also be seen nightly. Finally, the holidays would not be complete with out some old-fashioned caroling. Carolers can be seen strolling this area all day.
There's plenty of food and shopping to be found during "An Old-Fashioned Christmas." Aunt Julie's Country Kitchen features a delicious holiday buffet, complete with all your seasonal favorites. Look for other holiday treats throughout the park, such as gingerbread men, roasted nuts, cider, hot cocoa and more.
And the day wouldn't be complete without a visit to the jolly old elf, Santa Claus. Visit "Kringles" and discover how Santa has changed through the years as you stroll "Santa Through History," before letting him know if you've been naughty or nice.
So bring your family and experience Christmas as it SHOULD be. Only at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park.
The event is included in park admission.
Event days are: November 16-18, 23-25, 30, December 1-30. (Closed Christmas Day)
